Eric Swithin is a combat veteran who served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He received his BA in Economics from Rice University, and his Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. Eric is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Apologetics, Discipleship, and Spiritual Formation at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is both an artist and a minister; he loves how Jesus used stories to teach His disciples and wants to do the same! Eric and his wife, Kameron, founded Abba Heart Ministries in 2014. Abba Heart Ministries started as Outdoor Adventures, a fatherless ministry, then grew into a national alliance known as The Alliance for Ending the Fatherless Epidemic. In recent years, God has grown their ministry to include evangelism and making faith-based films like Show Me Your Glory: True Stories of When the Supernatural Crashed into Human Suffering and The Fatherless Epidemic. Eric is the author of the book, Show Me Your Glory. In ministry, Eric is called to serve ministry leaders by helping them abide more deeply and live more radically. He specializes in spiritual disciplines, leadership, preaching, ministry strategy, discipleship strategy and discipleship curriculum.
Chief Technical Officer: David Botterill served four years active duty in the United States Army then 18 years in the Army National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. David has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and 30+ years of experience in software engineering. He was overwhelmed when Eric told him about God’s work through Outdoor Adventures in 2015 and feels drawn to help the fatherless in any way he can. David’s life verse is, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” - Matthew 6:33"
Kameron Swithin received her BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, and her law degree (JD) from the University of Houston, where she was Executive Editor of Houston Law Review. Then, she practiced corporate law in Texas for 9 years before entering full-time ministry with her husband, Eric. Kameron is a lawyer, artist, and minister. Together, Kameron and Eric founded Abba Heart Ministries in 2014. Abba Heart Ministries started as Outdoor Adventures, a fatherless ministry, then grew into a national alliance known as The Alliance for Ending the Fatherless Epidemic. In recent years, God has grown their ministry to include evangelism and making faith-based films like Show Me Your Glory: True Stories of When the Supernatural Crashed into Human Suffering and The Fatherless Epidemic. Kameron is author of the book, Show Me Your Glory. She is the lead singer-songwriter behind the Show Me Your Glory film original songs: “Your Heart Bleeds” and “You Heal Me.” Her favorite role is being a wife to Eric and a mama to two precious children.
William Hernandez is a 2017 Walkabout graduate! He served as a junior leader during a 2018 Walkabout and served as a summer intern in 2020. He is an outdoor enthusiast who comes alive playing rugby. He graduated from Arkansas State University where he majored in Disaster Preparedness. He was a member of the Arkansas State Campus Ministry and the Varsity Rugby Team. He is currently serving in the United States Army and training to become a Green Beret. He also works full-time with Mercy Chefs—a disaster relief ministry.
Caleb Beaird is someone who loves nature and the peace it brings. He will be attending Wheaton College but is currently taking a gap year to discern his calling. He is seeking to discover how he was made so that he can most effectively pour out our Father's heart. Most importantly, he is a beloved son of God.
Allison Stewart has more than 25 years of ministry experience. She served as a volunteer youth leader for seven years at her home church in Austin, TX, and served as the Youth Administrative Assistant for four of those years. During those years, she and her husband helped lead teens on backpacking trips to Colorado, which is when she fell in love with the mountains. She is married to Kade Stewart and has two beautiful girls, Maddie and Mia. They served as stateside missionaries at Camp Redcloud in Lake City, Colorado for ten years before moving to Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She currently volunteers as a youth leader at Open Circle Youth Group and works part time for FOCUS Ministries and Pagosa Family School. She currently leads teenage girl backpacking trips with Outdoor Adventures. Her heart is to help struggling teens know how dearly they are loved by their true Heavenly Father, regardless of what kind of earthly father or mother they have.
Scott Swanson is a retired Colonel who served 30 years in the US Army Reserves. He is currently employed by a Investor owned utility in Arizona where he manages Federal contracts and renewable resource generation projects. He is currently serving as a Deacon at Hi-Way Baptist Church in Mesa, AZ and also serves as the Band of Brothers adult ministry leader. Scott felt powerfully drawn to align with what God is doing through Outdoor Adventures and helping the fatherless. His life verse is to obey God rather than man by living a life of honesty, integrity, and unconditional love (Acts 5:29).
